Boreal Pure was built around a single question: why hasn't anyone brought this berry to the United States properly?
Haskap grows in the northern regions of Japan, Russia, Canada, and parts of the northern US. It has been eaten for generations in the communities that grow it, valued for its density, its flavor, and its association with long, healthy lives. It contains more anthocyanins than almost any other berry on Earth. Almost no one in the US has heard of it.
The founder
I'm Scott Pechter, the founder of Boreal Pure.
I've spent years paying close attention to what I put in my body, not obsessively, but intentionally. I believe every bite should earn its place. I care about nutrient density. I care about ingredient integrity. I care about the difference between something that's marketed as healthy and something that actually is.
When I came across Haskap, I did what I always do: I researched it, I sourced it, and I tried it. The flavor stopped me. Deep, complex, tart-sweet in a way that felt like it carried something real. I started digging into the science. The anthocyanin concentrations were unlike anything I'd seen in a commercially available fruit. The human clinical trials on cognitive performance and athletic endurance were small but real. The iridoid compounds were unique to this berry — found nowhere else in the edible fruit world.
Then I looked for a premium version I could buy regularly in the US. I couldn't find one — not at the quality level I was looking for, not in packaging that matched what the ingredient deserved.
So I decided to build it.
